If you love your handbags quirky, then this medium sized top handle satchel from the 60s is a little piece of tourist kitsch heaven!
Made as souvenirs for visitors to Mexico, these are actually really nice examples of leatherwork from the local artisans, with a deeply embossed Mayan calendar flanked by native plants on one side, and a guy and his donkey harvesting corn on the other. Even the base is finished with a basketweave design, and a little Mayan figure adorns the closure.
This is a medium hand held bag and is deceptively roomy- would easily fit a decent sized book and a handheld tablet, plus a smartphone!
